Well, Summer has hit Brisbane like a tonne of humid bricks. I feel like just last week it was plausible to wear long pants, but now the wind blows hot and we are all sweating our make up off before we get into work. Yep, that’s Brisbane summer for you! It isn’t as glamorous as you’d hope hot weather would be! Instead, it calls for seeking shade, air-con and ice-cold beverages. Luckily, I’ve got one of the later that’s perfect for this summer heat: the Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé.

The one good thing about Summer is that it screams Rosé. It’s the perfect excuse to crack open a bottle at midday to enjoy with friends and just cool down! It’s also the perfect beverage to enjoy on these balmy summer nights with a light meal, because who can fathom putting the oven on?

Summer sipping with Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé

Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé

The Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé was a seriously good find, and one I intend to continue drinking throughout these hot summer days. If you’d been with the Cheeky Vino for a while, you’ll know I am obsessed with Provence Rosé. It ain’t no secret! I just love the stuff – I would drink it like water if I could. But then I would be very, very drunk. So instead I just seek it out whenever a Rosé is in order – which is frequently in my house.

The only issue with Provence Rosé is that it often carries a hefty price tag! This is because it has a bit of prestige about it, and it’s imported, and generally plain delicious. As a result, it can be hard to find something good under $30 a bottle. This makes loving Provence Rosé expensive!

Luckily, sometimes you can find gems, like the Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé! This baby retails for around $25 a bottle, and I picked it up at $20! It’s an absolute steal for such a delicious wine. So how can you say no?

Why I loved it

What makes the Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé? Well, just check out that colour! It has the perfect light, salmon hue that screams French Riviera. It takes me back there and for a moment makes me forget I’m in sweltering Brisbane weather.

This wine is made on the classic Provence blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and so exhibits the classic flavours of Provence Rosé. When you smell the wine you’ll get some delicious flavours of peach, pear and strawberry. All the delicious summer fruits that make your mouth water! The taste is absolutely delicious and refreshing with a great hit of acidity and dryness at the end of the palate. This leaves the wine with a crisp finish that makes it all too easy to keep drinking. This wine is fresh, fruity but balanced with a classic dry finish. It will leave you feeling refreshed and also like you need another glass or two.

What to enjoy it with

Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé

The great thing about the Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé is that it is perfect for many occasions. We took a bottle of this down to the river near our house. We sat on a picnic blanket and threw the ball for our dog, watching the world go by as we sipped. It was such a perfect occasion for this wine! However, it would go so well with an afternoon drink at sunset when the weather has cooled slightly.

If you are looking to pair it with food, you most certainly can! Think light dishes because this wine is perfect with summer meals. Seafood, salads and grilled meat would be the go! That, or some goats cheese! Whatever it is, make sure it is light and refreshing!

The final word on the Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé

The Estandon Heritage Cotes De Provence Rosé is perfect for summer. At less than $30 a bottle, this wine is super affordable for a Provence Rosé. It gives you the perfect excuse to sip on it all summer long without breaking the bank! Whether you want to enjoy this refreshing and dry wine with a light meal or just to cool down, it will go perfectly with most summer activities! Especially sipping and watching the world go by while you try desperately to cool down!
