It can be hard to know where to start when you begin your journey as a wine lover. There are so many tools out there that it can be impossible to work out which ones are worth it, and which ones are a waste of time and money. So to help you, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite go-to wine tools.
This list is some of my favourite wine tools that I love to use personally. They might not be everyone’s favourite, but I wanted to share what I love so it might help you decide on what you need. So here are a few of my favourite wine tools
My favourite wine bible: Wine Folly
There are plenty of books about wine out there but my favourite is Wine Folly. This guide has everything you need to know about wine including detailed guides on grape varieties. I love the visuals in this book and how it breaks concepts down simply for you. Definitely a must have if you are a wine lover wanting to learn more!
Wine aerator – VinOAir
I’ve used the VinOAir for many years now and it is my favourite aerator. This tool helps to fast track aerating your wine to really bring out the aromas and flavours without having to let the wine breath for hours. Once you have one it’s hard to go back! I love this brand as it seems to last for ages.
Wine labels for your cellar
To keep track of your wine as you start to collect it, I love to have labels on all my bottles. It makes it easy to look through and see what you have on hand and what can be drunk now! I love these labels as they are designed for wine bottles and sit really nicely in the cellar.
Wine rack
I absolutely love these wine racks as you can build on them as you go. Start off small and as your collection expands just add more racks in! They are also easy to assemble and come in a range of sizes making it easy to fit them into an existing space.
Wine decanter
Having a decanter is great not only for your wine but also for aesthetics. It looks beautiful on a shelf, and is a great addition to any dinner party. There are plenty of wild ones out there but this shape is quite easy to pour from meaning less risk of breakage!
Wine stopper
If you have wine leftover it’s important to preserve it by removing the oxygen from the bottle. This will ensure that the wine lasts longer for you to enjoy another night. There are plenty of fancy tools out there but I think you can’t go past a good old pump system. This one is so easy to use and comes with a couple of stoppers making it perfect if you have people over.
