Wine review: Rob Dolan White Label Pinot Noir
Recently when I was unable to attend their wine and food pairing event, the team at Rob Dolan were kind enough to send me a Pairing Method tasting kit to try at home so I wouldn’t miss out. I was so sad to miss out on the event, so it was great to get the opportunity to recreate it at home. The kit comes with four wines and access to a QR code so you can learn about food and wine pairings as you taste, and two recipes to try along with the wines! I’m going to try one of them in the coming weeks, so watch this space. But in the meantime, I couldn’t wait to share my thoughts on the Rob Dolan White Label Pinot Noir with you because it was so delicious.
But I wanted to share the Rob Dolan White Label Pinot Noir with you because it is so delicious. Yarra Valley Pinot has a special place in my heart, and this one ticks all the boxes for me. I love a good Pinot with depth and complexity, and this wine has it all. Savoury, spice and fruit all wrapped up in an elegant wine. On the nose, the Rob Dolan White Label Pinot Noir has notes of cherry, raspberry and a hint of spice. This follows through into the palate which is bright yet savoury and has lovely notes of spice throughout. It’s got beautifully velvety tannins and a nice, long finish. This wine is simply beautiful, with plenty to unpack, and it is a great Pinot for pairing with good food!

Rob Dolan started in AFL football, and with two premierships under his belt, he set his sights on winemaking. After moving to the Yarra Valley, he launched two successful Yarra Valley brands: Sticks and Punt Road.
