Obsession Wines Tempranillo

I love a good Tempranillo, and the Obsession Wines Tempranillo ticked all the boxes for me. It is similar to the style of wines from the Ribera del Duero region in Spain, yet comes from the lesser-known wine region of Tumbarumba in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales. This is the kind of wine that is perfect for pairing with cuisines like Mexican and Italian (oh, and Spanish of course). I can’t think of anything better than a glass of this tasty wine and a big bowl of tomato-based pasta. The perfect cold night meal really.

The Obsession Wines Tempranillo is juicy and intense, packed full of juicy fruit flavours. It’s light purple in the glass and quite dark in colour, yet drinks more medium-bodied. Notes of juicy plum, blackberry and raspberry come together into a taste sensation that is balanced by a lovely spice. This wine is really enjoyable to sip on, and I found myself going back to it sip after sip for that lovely long finish. Just a delicious wine, and not a bad price either.

Obsession Wines is located on the outskirts of Tumbarumba, in the New South Wales Snowy Valley region of Australia. The winery processes about 500 tonnes of locally grown grapes for surrounding growers each year, as well as making our own range of cool-climate wines.
