You’ll enjoy it if: You like your Rosé a little more fruity
Looking for the perfect all-rounder Rosé? The Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. It is heavy enough to be paired beautifully with food but has a nice delicate acidity to round off the fruitiness in the palate. With or without food, this wine will bring you back to summer days!
Even though the weather is getting cooler, there is still plenty of reason to enjoy Rosé. Personally I think Rosé is good all year round. It’s that perfect wine for when you are a little over red, but still want something with a bit of oompf. That’s why the Cellarmasters My Favourites Rosé Reservation Subscription is perfect for lovers of this drop like me! You get three boxes per year, each with four bottles of three different types of Rosé and a little surprise. I thought the last one I received wouldn’t be polished off as quickly as it was, but with such delicious wines in there I’ve found they’ve flown off our wine shelves! You can find my review of one of the other wines in the March box here if you’re interested in finding out more!
The Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 is perfect with or without food
The Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 was a wine I pulled out of the fridge on a Sunday afternoon. I’d been doing a bit of wedding planning and needed to get the creative juices flowing to come up with a wedding hashtag. What better way to tackle this activity than with a glass of delicious Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 in hand?
Although Briar Ridge is located in the Hunter Valley, the Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 is from the Limestone Coast. The Wrattonbully subregion is known for its elegant and fine wines, and their vineyards are award-winning. So you know this wine is going to be good! I have to say it was all too easy to polish off between my partner and I as we progressively came up with funnier hashtags. So if you have a creative block – might I suggest this as a cure? Note: results could vary.
Why I loved it
The Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 is a really interesting wine. It is a bit of a heavier style than those of Provence, and not quite as dry. However, this is quite a nice change and the wine itself is nicely balanced. At the front, you get a punch of fruit. Think strawberries and nectarines – those deliciously juicy fruits all wrapped into a wine! This is balanced out by a really nice acidity and a crisp finish. This wine doesn’t linger, which means it is all too easy to drink.
The flavour profile on the Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 is a little heavier, making it a great option for pairing with food. It is also great for those who enjoy a slightly heavier, more fruity Rosé. However, those who enjoy something crisper will welcome the finish on this wine. I’d say it’s an all-round crowd pleaser!
What to enjoy it with
The Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 can be enjoyed with or without food. Pair it with a nice afternoon relaxing on the balcony, or even with lunch. In these cooler months, it might make you feel like it’s summer again with those fruit notes!
If you are pairing it with food, opt for something light. Grilled fish and salad would be my go-to or a light chicken dish. You could also pair it with a bit of a cheese platter to enjoy over an afternoon! Just make sure none of the flavours are too overpowering because they might counteract the balance in this wine.
The final word on the Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019
The Briar Ridge Pinot Rosé 2019 is a great all-rounder wine that most are sure to enjoy. It is fruity but crisp, refreshing but heavier than some other Rosés. This makes for a delicious drop that works well with or without food. Just sip on it over an afternoon and dream of those warmer days!
