On Sunday we were meant to go to the movies, but instead found ourselves relaxing before another busy week ahead. After a packed weekend, it was so nice to have some extra time back in the day. So as I was getting into the relaxation mood, I decided that what I really needed was a nice glass of Rosé or two to really top off the afternoon. I don’t think you can get much better than relaxing on a Sunday afternoon with a glass of Rosé in hand, and this one really helped to set the mood.

Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019

The Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019 is from the Limestone Coast and made for drinking now. It is also super affordable, coming in at just under $20 a bottle. If that doesn’t get your ears pricked up, I don’t know what will! Patrick of Coonawarra is a family-run winery with Luke taking on his father’s legacy for delicious wine and thinking outside the box. The result is a range of different and delicious wines for all of us to enjoy!

I am a bit picky when it comes to Rosé. I love my Provence style of salmon-hued wines. This wine looks like it won’t be dry and easy-drinking because of its bright pink colour, but don’t be fooled! It highlights the importance of trying wines and not judging them by their colour, because trying this wine really surprised me. It broadened my horizons to other styles of Rosé and how good they can be!

Why I loved it

Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019

The Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019 is quite fruity in its aroma. You’ll find strawberries and red cherries dominate this. It goes oh so well with the bright hue of this wine which screams Summer. On the palate, however, this wine is drier than I expected. You get a good hit of acidity after an initial mouthful of fruit sweetness. It reminded me a bit of eating tart raspberries with a nice kick of acidity to round it all off. It made the wine really easy to drink because the fruit was so balanced by the acidity.

If you are a fan of fruity Rosé, I think you’ll definitely enjoy this wine. However, lovers of a dry style will also enjoy this wine. It is packed full of flavour, but very well-balanced. It was all too easy to polish off in an afternoon.

What to enjoy it with

Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019

Because the Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019 is packed full of flavour, it makes it quite a good food wine. I would pair it with a light, Summer dish. Think seafood, cheese platters or light salads. A light pasta dish would also go quite well with this wine.

However, it would just as easily be enjoyed on its own as part of a Sunday wine down, just like I enjoyed it! That’s the great thing about this wine – it goes down easy no matter the occasion.

The final word on the Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019

The Patrick of Coonawarra P-Series Rosé 2019 is so easy-drinking and perfect for Sunday afternoons. It is all too easy to polish off a bottle of while you sit back and relax at the end of a weekend. With or without food, this balanced wine is a great blend of fruit and acidity. And at under $20 a bottle, you won’t feel the least bit guilty about opening it without a special occasion in mind. Just sit back and enjoy!
