Wine review: The Islander Estate Vineyards Rosé
Recently I was sent a few wines from The Islander Estate Vineyards on Kangaroo Island to try. I’ve never tried wines from Kangaroo Island before, and so I was very excited to have the opportunity to dive into the wines from this region. It was hard to know where to start, but with Summer well and truly here, The Islander Estate Vineyards Rosé was calling my name. This Rosé is more of a Provence style and filled with refreshing and crisp notes. It’s perfect for enjoying with warmer weather, with a charcuterie board or a salad, or even on its own while enjoying the sunset.
On the nose, The Islander Estate Vineyards Rosé has lovely lifted notes of fresh berries, think strawberry and raspberry. These follow through into the palate which is strawberry-dominant and has a note of peaches and cream. It’s got a nice, zippy acidity, and a lovely, clean finish that makes it super refreshing. It’s simply delicious, all too easy to drink, and the kind of wine that would make a staple for Summer sipping.
