The Été Rosé 2019 couldn’t be more perfect for summer

I was so excited to try this wine and couldn’t wait to crack a bottle open when it arrived. I mean check out that label for starters – if that doesn’t scream summer fun I don’t know what does! Did you know the name of this wine literally translates to summer? I don’t think you could have a better name for this dreamy wine.

The Été Rosé 2019 comes all the way from France and so it took me back to our trip a couple of years ago. How I wish I could be in the French Riveria right now sipping on Rosé! Luckily having a wine this good means I don’t have to get on a plane to feel like I am sitting in France – now all I need is a croissant!

This wine is made using 100% Grenache grapes which gives it a beautiful light colour and makes it perfectly refreshing. Honestly, I can’t think of a better wine for enjoying over spring and summer. It screams ‘take me to a picnic and enjoy!’ Wines like this always have a place in our household and are usually snapped up very quickly when they are this delicious!

Why I loved it

The Été Rosé 2019 is a beautiful light salmon colour in the glass. On the nose, I got lovely strawberry flavours and a hint of florals which gave it a really nice delicate feel. The flavours were where the party was at! I loved how refreshing this wine was – it has a lovely crisp acidity to round out a creamy mouthfeel. It also had a bit of a savoury note to it which really balanced out the strawberry flavours.

This Rosé delivered on everything. It was crisp and dry whilst also creamy and elegant. It didn’t overwhelm you but it had enough balanced complexity to leave you wanting another sip. This made it all too easy to drink, and I found we polished it off all too quickly! It is always a sign of a super refreshing wine when we can’t seem to get enough of it!

What to enjoy it with

The Été Rosé 2019 can be enjoyed with or without food. It is light enough in its flavours to make for a great afternoon drink to celebrate the end of a working week, or hey just because (I won’t judge). But it would also go well with a light meal.

Personally? This wine is perfect for picnics! It is refreshing enough to be enjoyed during the day and has a great flavour profile that will go so well with antipasti. Think cured meats and cheese enjoyed with friends in the sun. It’s the perfect spring and summer activity enjoyed with the perfect Summer Rosé in hand!
