Now that we’re heading towards the end of Winter (finally) I’m turning my head to those wines that will be perfect for warmer weather. It is already heating up here in Brisbane so we’re already feeling those summer sippers. But let’s be honest, when it comes to Rosé I can always find an excuse to enjoy it! So when I was sent the latest release of the Bone Dry Rosé to try, I was so excited to give it a go! I’ve tried previous vintages and always found this wine to be simply tasty. So I wanted to share what I thought of the latest release with you all!
What I loved about the Bone Dry Rosé
The Bone Dry Rosé was produced by winemaker Simon Gilbert using a unique blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Primitivo, Sangiovese and Merlot. The grapes have all been sourced from Mudgee in New South Wales. The wine certainly lives up to its name with only 1g/L of sugar. As a result, the wine is super refreshing and ridiculously easy to drink.
The wine has a beautiful pale salmon colour in the glass which reminds me of the wines of Provence. It made me feel like I was on the French Rivera while I sipped it which is always a win in my books. The wine had flavours of red cherries and watermelon along with rose water on the nose. On the palate, it started juicy but had a lovely crisp acidity and dry palate which made it oh so refreshing. The wine was all too easy to drink and simply delicious. The kind of wine you don’t have to think about opening.
What to enjoy it with
The Bone Dry Rosé is the kind of wine that is perfect for summer days with friends. It is a wine I can imagine grabbing a few bottles of for a picnic, or simply to enjoy before dinner as we watch the sun set. You really don’t need a meal to enjoy this wine – just a warm summer day. Or a winter one if you want to be transported to summer!
If you are looking to pair it with food, I think you can’t go wrong with a cheese platter or antipasti. However, if you want a full meal, why not try some seafood? This wine would be absolutely delicious alongside a seafood long lunch.
In summary: Bone Dry Rosé
The Bone Dry Rosé is simply delicious drinking that you don’t need to think too much of to enjoy. It is low sugar and crisp and refreshing, ticking all the boxes for a summer sipper. It would be the perfect wine for enjoying if you live by the phrase Rosé all day! So grab this simply tasty wine for your next summer session with friends.
