Recently I was sent some wines from Tahbilk to try from their new release and you best believe the first one I opened had to be the Tahbilk 2021 Grenache Mouvedre Rosé. I mean if you can’t have Rosé all day in Spring when can you?
Tahbilk 2021 Grenache Mouvedre Rosé review
Established in 1860 Tahbilk is one of Australia’s most beautiful and historic family-owned wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120kms north of Melbourne), the property was purchased by the Purbrick family in 1925. Now Tahbilk is home to 5 generations.
The name is derived from the location which the local aboriginal people first referred to as “tabilk-tabilk”, meaning “place of many waterholes”.
The Tahbilk 2021 Grenache Mouvedre Rosé is the perfect Spring sipper to enjoy with or without food. It is made using 51% Grenache grapes and 49% Mouvedre.
I loved the vibrant pink colour in the glass – it was so bright! But don’t be fooled, this wine is dry and refreshing even if it might look like candy. Vibrant red berry, musk and cherry come together into a lively wine with a deliciously crisp finish. It is the sort of wine that is oh so refreshing and all too easy to sip on.
Food pairing wise I don’t think you could go wrong with some sushi or a light grilled chicken dish. Something nice and fresh would pair perfectly with this refreshing and vibrant wine.
