The Mitchelton Estate Nagambie Mourvedre Rosé is a really tasty Rosé for those looking for something more medium-bodied. It is the kind of Rosé that is perfect for enjoying in cooler weather because it has a bit more oomph to it. It’s also great for pairing with a meal and could go from anything from a Paella to BBQ with seafood or lamb. Or you could pair it with your favourite cured meats.
The Mitchelton Estate Nagambie Mourvedre Rosé is vibrant pink in the glass which follows through with vibrant, fruity aromas. Notes of blueberry, strawberry and cream come together on the nose. Red fruit really dominates the palate with intensity upfront that is beautifully balanced by a soft structure in the wine. This Rosé ends on a lovely crisp note making it a lovely sipper from start to finish.
About Mitchelton Estate
Mitchelton Estate goes back to 1836 when the explorer Major Thomas Mitchell crossed the river at the site on the way from Sydney to Melbourne. The intended riverside town was said to have been called Mitchellstown. In 1969 the vineyard’s first sod was turned when the first vines were planted on the site by Ross Shelmerdine and Colin Preece who set up the winery they called Mitchelton on the same site.
Mitchelton specialises in the production of Shiraz, Riesling and Rhone blend wines from grape to glass, and is known for bringing out unique regional characters in their wines.
The Mitchelton Estate Nagambie Mourvedre Rosé is part of their limited edition range produced from fruit sourced across three of Mitchelton’s vineyards: Nagambie, Yarra Valley and Heathcote. The wine labels showcase artwork from Gabriella Possom Nungurrayi who is currently featured in the Mitchelton Gallery of Aboriginal Art – Australia’s largest commercial Aboriginal art gallery.
