You all know I love a good Rosé, especially in Summer. So when I was recently sent some wines from Sticks Yarra Valley to try, I couldn’t wait to get stuck into their Rosé.
Sticks have been around for quite some time and I know I have tried some of their wines in the past. But recently their eye-catching labels caught my eye on Instagram and I was hooked. I mean just look at this striking label! I love how much it sticks out, especially on a bottle of Rosé!

What I loved about the 2021 Sticks Rosé
I absolutely loved the 2021 Sticks Rosé. I wasn’t sure what a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes would be like in a Rosé but I can report it is seriously delicious. A beautiful and vibrant pink in the glass with rosewater and raspberry on the nose along with a bit of sweetness. I was thinking it was going to be a sweet wine from this but don’t be fooled. This wine is seriously refreshing and has a beautiful dry style!
The palate is where it’s at for me. It has an incredible texture that is both creamy and crunchy at the same time. At the front there are lovely fruit notes of strawberry and peach that are oh so juicy. This is backed up by a slightly savoury and creamy note and a nice crisp finish. This wine has so much wrapped up in every sip and I had so much fun unpacking it. So much so that it was polished off all too quickly. If that’s not a sign of a drinkable wine I don’t know what is!
What to enjoy it with
The 2021 Sticks Rosé has a bit more of a punch than a Provence style but still enough freshness to be enjoyed with or without food. If you want to pair it with a meal, great. If you want to crack it open after a long and hot summer day, perfect! It is really adaptable to any occasion.
Food pairing wise I would love to enjoy this wine with a nice cheese platter of an afternoon watching the sun go down. I can’t think of a more perfect pairing than this!
In summary: 2021 Sticks Rosé
I always love trying new Rosé and the 2021 Sticks Rosé surprised and delighted me. From its aromas to its creamy yet crunchy palate, this wine is absolutely divine. Perfect for sipping on of a Summer afternoon, and at $24 a bottle could easily be a summer staple for any occasion.
