Trevelen Farm Estate Riesling 2019

by The Cheeky Vino

Have you tried wines from the Great Southern before? Well, I think the Trevelen Farm Estate Riesling 2019 might be one of the many reasons to check them out! It’s a beautiful Riesling that is quite affordable at $25.

I got to try some beautiful wines from Great Southern Wine and before then I’ll be honest I hadn’t really heard of this wine region in Western Australia. But after trying these wines I am adding this region to my bucket list of wine regions I must visit!

The Trevelen Farm vineyard began as part of a 3160-acre farming operation turned very successful winery producing incredible wines. With the broad acre part of the operation being taken over by son Ben and wife Louise, this has allowed a focus on the running and development of the wine business. John and Katie’s long, distinguished connection with the land can be appreciated in the consistent quality of their wines.

The Trevelen Farm Estate Riesling 2019 is aromatic with a hit of citrus and blossom. This is mirrored in the palate with a beautiful citrus lemon hit and minerality. This wine is fresh and full of vibrancy which makes it super refreshing. I loved how easy drinking this Riesling was.

Food pairing wise I would opt for something light – think a light Asian salad or fish and chicken.
