- Type: Prosecco
- Location: Venetto, Italy
- Price: <$20
- Why I bought it: It’s from Italy
- First Impression: Goes down a bit too easy
- You’ll enjoy it if: You’re in the mood for a Spritz
Prosecco will always hold an important place in my heart. I feel like it is the right price point for celebrating the every day, so you can have a celebration whenever you want rather than just having to wait for special occasions (I mean I wish my budget allowed for champagne all the time, but alas I am not a millionaire yet). I love that prosecco is so delicious but you can get a decent bottle for under $20, and an even better one for under $30! You can also easily make it into one of my favourite cocktails (or should I say aperitivo): Aperol Spritz! What can’t prosecco do? Well, I guess a lot of things, like save you from a burning building, but that is a technicality!
Enter Bandini Prosecco
This week I wanted to review the Bandini Prosecco. It is all the way from Veneto, Italy, and you know by now how I feel about proper Italian prosecco. Unless it is King Valley, Italian prosecco is always my go to! It can’t beat drinking it in the actual Italy, but it does bring back fond memories and makes me feel a little bit closer to my favourite place in the world. I feel like the Italian proseccos are always so tasty, even if you pay less than $10 for them, so if you are trying to decide in the bottle shop, I would highly recommend checking them out!
Why I loved it
What I loved about this prosecco was how light and easy to drink it was. It wasn’t as dry as some of the other proseccos I’ve enjoyed, and even though I don’t mind a dry prosecco I know this can be something that other people don’t like about this type of sparkling. I find it funny reading reviews of this prosecco though because they call it extra dry, but I wouldn’t have said that myself. Because it has a very fine bubble to it you don’t notice as much, and personally I found it very fresh in its flavour with not much acidity. Each to their own, everyone has a different palette afterall!
What to eat with it
As per usual I enjoyed this over some cheese with my best friend from Melbourne and of course it was absolutely perfect. You could also pair this with an entree that is quite light and refreshing such as a salad or seafood. I think it would also make excellent Aperol spritz but it tastes beautiful on its own.
