Wine review: The Flying Winemaker Pinot Grigio
A few years ago I was introduced to the wines from The Flying Winemaker and loved them. So I was excited to have the opportunity to revisit some of their wines a couple of years on. Starting with The Flying Winemaker Pinot Grigio was the right decision as it is still so hot here in Brisbane. This crisp and classic King Valley Pinot Grigio hits the spot in this hot weather we’ve been having, and would be perfectly at home alongside a crisp salad or even some dumplings!
On the nose, The Flying Winemaker Pinot Grigio is packed full of pear, peach and citrus. This follows through into the palate which is refreshing and driven by a nice citrus acidity. It’s crisp and crunchy, making it the perfect thirst quencher. A hint of minerality at the finish also makes this wine the kind that keeps giving. This wine is bright, balanced and clean, and there’s nothing more to say other than it’s delightful!
About The Flying Winemaker
The Flying Winemaker was established in 2010 and has built its foundations on long-term relationships with grape growers and winemakers from across the globe. Australian Winemaker Eddie McDougall is the founder, and what started with the first release of Pinot Noir has steadily grown over the years. Their relationships with vineyard owners have naturally allowed for expansion across emerging and iconic regions. The Australia portfolio now houses wines from across the Margaret River, King Valley and McLaren Vale.
