Wine review: Napa Cellars Pinot Noir 2017
Recently I was sent the Pinot Subscription box from Carboot Wines and I could hardly contain my excitement. If I were to pick a wine subscription, getting a whole box of Pinot Noir delivered would be the one! I had so many wines to choose from, it was hard to pick where to start. But I saw the Napa Cellars Pinot Noir 2017 I just had to start there. I’ve never had a Pinot from the US before so it was really exciting to get the opportunity to try one. That’s the great thing about this box – you get to try wines you’ve never tried before.
The Napa Cellars Pinot Noir 2017 is a beautifully elegant Pinot that delivers on flavour tenfold. Notes of strawberry and raspberry come forward in the aromas followed by an earthiness that hints at what’s to come. The palate is where this wine really shines. It is soft, velvety and smooth with beautiful balance. Notes of strawberry and vanilla upfront are paired with leather, spice and a hint of tobacco. This wine has a really nice structure which makes it perfect for sipping on with a good meal.
