Leconfield Chardonnay 2019

by The Cheeky Vino

Recently I enjoyed this tasting Chardonnay from Leconfield wines and it was so good that I had to share it with you all. I have really enjoyed sipping my way through the Leconfield range and was excited to try the Leconfield Chardonnay 2019 because they aren’t as well known for this as they are for their cabernets.

Leconfield Coonawarra has a long and rich history. It was established in 1974 by oenologist, Sydney Hamilton. At the age of 76, he yearned to make a classic Australian Cab Sav and so set out to find the right district to establish his own vineyard and winery.

He chose a piece of land at Coonawarra to fulfil this life ambition and called it Leconfield after his English ancestor, Lord Leconfield. Today Leconfield Coonawarra embraces the essence of Coonawarra by creating rich, elegant and sensual wines.

The Leconfield Chardonnay 2019 is a great wine for lovers of Chardonnay that isn’t too oaked or unoaked. It has a medium body with a nose full of ripe nectarine and a hint of vanilla. This follows through to the palate which has a lovely balance between stone fruit notes, slight richness and creamy vanilla from oak influence, and a bright finish. This wine is elegant and complex yet bright and refreshing.

Food pairing wise you couldn’t go wrong pairing this with risotto or roast chicken!

The Leconfield Chardonnay 2019 is available from select retailers online and nationwide.
