Wine review: Balancing Heart Blanc de Blanc
This close to the holidays I love popping open bottles of sparkling wine. To keep on the week’s theme, I wanted to share the Balancing Heart Blanc de Blanc from the Granite Belt in my home state of Queensland! I love visiting Balancing Heart Vineyard whenever we go to the Granite Belt, so to try their latest release at home is a real treat. And this Blanc de Blanc is perfect for Summer sipping while celebrations are in full swing. This sparkling wine is refreshing and perfect for enjoying with or without food, making it an excellent option for holiday parties and get-togethers.
The Balancing Heart Blanc de Blanc is a lovely and lively sparkling that will liven up any celebration. Green apple, pear, and grapefruit notes come together in this aromatic sparkling. These notes follow through into the palate, nicely balanced with a lovely zippy acidity. The finish is clean and crisp, making this sparkling super refreshing. It’s the sparkling wine perfect for cooling down in Summer and would go well with seafood or charcuterie before the meal. Or enjoy it on its own – it’s the holidays, after all!
About Balancing Heart Vineyard
Balancing Heart Vineyard is fueled by a profound passion for curating unforgettable experiences centred around exceptional wine. Their philosophy revolves around putting heart and soul into cultivating a vineyard that delivers the very best of Australian wines. Nestled in the Granite Belt, the vines thrive in soil enriched with the textural essence of nature, shaped over an impressive 250 million years of history. Meticulously balancing the art and science of winemaking, each bottle is infused with the unique history of the climate and location.
The journey of Balancing Heart Vineyard began in July 2020 under the stewardship of vineyard owner Greg Kentish, who envisions Balancing Heart as a must-visit destination in the Australian wine scene. Greg’s aspirations, combined with the expertise of their award-winning winemaker, Mike Hayes – the 2017 Australian Winemaker of the Year with over 40 years of experience – ensure that every sip tells a story. They offer more than just wine; they provide a Modern Luxe cellar door experience and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. From breathtaking views to regular live music, they aim to craft truly memorable moments for their guests. Inspired by the natural granite rock formation resembling a balancing heart, the name encapsulates the belief that exceptional wine and unforgettable experiences emerge when everything is in perfect harmony.
