Wine review: Ada Wine Co The Rift Chardonnay
It’s no secret that I love Chardonnay, especially when it delivers the best of both worlds. Give me a Chardonnay that has lovely balance between oaked and unoaked notes and I am sold. Let me tell you, the Ada Wine Co The Rift Chardonnay ticked all the boxes for me. It is packed full of flavour and is the kind of wine you keep going back for more to unpack it further. Each sip has you discovering more, and the result is polishing it off all too quickly.
On the nose, the Ada Wine Co The Rift Chardonnay has notes of melon, peach and spice, along with a nice note of vanilla. This follows through into the palate that has a lovely play between the notes from malolactic fermentation giving it a creamy texture, and the fresh and vibrant fruity flavours of melon and peach. The wine is beautifully textural with plenty going on between crisp acidity and the rich and powerful creaminess. It’s nicely balanced, and simply a joy to drink. Pair it with roast chicken or salmon and you have the perfect evening.
