Wine review: Aces & Arrows Grüner Veltliner

We’ve still got warm weather here in Brisbane, so there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy fresh and crisp whites. And the Aces & Arrows Grüner Veltliner is one I enjoyed recently that I loved. I don’t drink a lot of this variety, but I was pleasantly surprised by this wine. It’s had 10% of the wine fermented in old oak which has added nice complexity and a hint of creaminess to an otherwise bright and fresh wine. It’s a great wine for enjoying with spicy foods, and I can’t think of anything better than a glass of this wine paired with a Thai curry.

On the nose, the Aces & Arrows Grüner Veltliner has lovely notes of peach, apple and floral notes. It’s wonderfully aromatic and makes you want to leave your nose in the glass to enjoy all the notes. The palate has a nice creamy texture alongside bright and fresh fruit notes and a hint of minerality. It’s got plenty to unpack and has excellent length to do so. If you like your whites with a little complexity, this is one to check out!
