With our trip to the Barossa Valley coming up, it was great to be sent a few of the wines from 3 Rings Barossa Valley to try. A Barossa Shiraz is such a classic, and the 3 Rings Barossa Valley Shiraz delivers everything you want from a Barossa Shiraz at a seriously affordable price point. It’s perfect for bringing along to a BBQ with friends, making it a great wine to have on hand as we head into the warmer months. It’s packed full of crowd-pleasing flavours that are sure to be a hit, especially when paired with a nice steak and grilled meat!

On the nose, the 3 Rings Barossa Valley Shiraz has aromas of mocha, fennel, cherry and classic spice. The palate is packed full of rich notes of cherry and plum, alongside dark chocolate. The fruit is relatively vibrant with a good amount of acidity, this is paired with ripe tannins that give the wine a nice texture. It’s bold and rich, yet surprisingly vibrant. Just simply tasty drinking, and at under $20 a bottle, it’s good value.

With more than half a century of grape-growing expertise and an even longer history in wine, the renowned Hickinbotham family has been crafting 3 Rings since 2004. They wanted to showcase the best of the Barossa Valley with their wines.

The name 3 Rings comes from the ancient trick; the sum of the interlocked parts far outweighs the individual elements. If any single ring is removed, the two remaining rings will fall apart, but there is power in unity. They see the trinity and perfect harmony of past, present and future in each distinct vintage.
