Wine review: Wondalma Vineyard Chardonnay 2021
When I visited the Tumbarumba wine region, I fell head over heels for their Chardonnay. It is a variety that they do oh so well, and the Wondalma Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 was the first wine I tried on the trip. I absolutely loved it when I tried it, and so when I was sent it as a sample, I was so excited to share it with you all. You can’t go wrong with a Tumba Chardy, and this one is a seriously special one.
The Wondalma Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 has a lovely balance between showcasing the purity of fruit alongside the texture of oak influence. This wine was matured in oak to give it lovely notes from lees, and these shine through in this beautifully balanced wine. On the nose, aromas of peach and grapefruit come through, along with a hint of flint. On the palate, the wine has a nice balance between showcasing fruit intensity and a beautiful creamy texture. It finishes with a lovely mouth-watering acidity that leaves you wanting another sip. It’s beautiful from start to finish.
