Wine review: Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay 2023

We don’t normally drink a lot of unoaked Chardonnay in our household. My husband loves the oakier the better. But with the hot weather we’ve been having, a brighter, more vibrant Chardonnay has been just what the doctor ordered. So I was pleasantly surprised by the Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay 2023, as was my husband. Because it has subtle oak, it isn’t technically unoaked and has nice complexity and length. But what dominates is the citrus, fruity, vibrant notes that make it incredibly refreshing and perfect for Summer.

On the nose, the Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay 2023 has lovely notes of lemon, peach and a hint of green apple. These fruity notes follow through into the vibrant palate with intense fruit notes and lovely crisp citrus acidity. It’s bright and refreshing, with just enough oak influence to add complexity and balance out that crisp acidity. It’s beautiful to sip on, wonderfully refreshing, and perfect for enjoying with Summer meals. What more could you want?
