Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay

by The Cheeky Vino

We’ve been drinking a lot of Chardonnay recently. This is 90% due to the fact that it seems to be all my husband wants to drink. Whenever I ask him what we should have with dinner, he always asks if we’ve got any Chardy in the fridge. I don’t know why I both asking anymore So I thought ahead and popped the Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay 2019 in the fridge for the next time he wanted one, and low and behold we cracked it open over the weekend. I have to say I am glad we did because it was delicious!

Tyrells is a bit of an Aussie institution from the Hunter Valley, and it is easy to see why! Their rich history dates all the way back to 1858 when Edward Tyrell arrived in the Hunter Valley and planted Shiraz and Semillon.

I haven’t had their Chardonnay before and the Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay 2019 was a great place to start. It retails at $35 and is worth every penny! For all of you lovers of balanced Chardonnay, it’s sure to deliver.

The Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay 2019 is a beautiful example of Hunter Valley Chardonnay. On the nose, I got peach and lime with a touch of biscuit and vanilla. Those flavours followed through into the palate which had a deliciously long finish that was sweet and succulent with a touch of smokey flavours. It’s a complex wine yet beautifully balanced, ticking all the boxes for me.

This wine is a great food Chardonnay and would go perfectly with risotto or roast chicken – my two favourite pairings for Chardonnay.
