The Taltarni Shiraz Viognier 2020 is a beautiful blend that brings a touch of Viognier to cool climate Shiraz to make for a complex and refined wine. Aromas of stonefruit and florals come together with spice and cherry from the Shiraz for a taste sensation. Although this wine is 14.5% ABV, it doesn’t drink that heavy thanks to the addition of Viognier and the cool-climate grapes, so actually tastes more medium-bodied. The palate is vibrant and fruit-driven with spice and rich red berries, but the texture is smooth. I love how complex yet beautifully balanced this wine is. You can go back sip after sip and keep unpacking more!

I’ve always been a fan of Taltarni sparkling ever since I discovered their wines at a Good Food and Wine show many years ago. Now after trying their red wines this year I am a huge fan of all their wines!
Taltarni released its first wine in 1977 and had immediate award wins. They are located in the Pyrenees, a perfect spot for the production of high-quality grapes. The cool nights and warm days allow for the slow ripening of the grapes for perfect flavours.
