Wine review: Taltarni Mouvedre 2021
The Taltarni Mouvedre 2021 is a great wine for those who are looking for a red that isn’t too overpowering. It is a great food wine with its balance between fruit and spice, bringing together the best from Mouvedre alongside a hint of Shiraz. This addition of Shiraz really adds to the wine and makes it really special, bringing that little added complexity to a great food wine. This wine would be perfectly matched with BBQ or roast beef.
In the glass, the Taltarni Mouvedre 2021 is a deep plum. The aroma is filled with cherry and spice, which follows through to the palate. The wine is beautifully plush and packed full of a complex yet balanced play between red berry and spice. A hint of pepper rounds the wine out, and the lovely long finish leaves you wanting more sip after sip.
About Taltarni
I’ve always been a fan of Taltarni sparkling ever since I discovered their wines at a Good Food and Wine show many years ago.
Taltarni released its first wine in 1977 and had immediate award wins. They are located in the Pyrenees, a perfect spot for the production of high-quality grapes.
Their winery is founded on the principles of individuality, independence and expression, combining old-world traditions with new-world techniques. The result? High-quality red and white wines and traditional method sparklings for us to enjoy.
This wine is from their Dynamics range which represents the style, taste, and artistic expression of our winemakers. Taltarni is renowned for producing incredibly beautiful red wines which are perfect for ageing. This range offers a great price point with wines you can enjoy now or cellar for a few years.
