Wine review: St Anne’s Vineyard Chardonnay
We love a full-bodied Chardonnay in our household, especially my husband. The butterier the better is his motto. Personally, I prefer them with balanced oak so they still have that refreshing crispness to balance out the heaviness of oak influence. And this wine from St Anne’s Vineyard Chardonnay really delivered for me, while still ticking the boxes for my husband. It has just enough acidity and crispness to balance out the rich and powerful flavours. This wine is a taste sensation and a perfect accompaniment to a Summer meal. The best part? It’s only $22 a bottle so won’t break the bank!
On the nose, the St Anne’s Vineyard Chardonnay is lively with notes of melon, lime and vanilla. This follows through into the palate which has an oak influence, giving it a hint of creaminess The palate is nicely balanced between crispness and oak influence, and beautifully complex and balanced. It’s perfect for lovers of full-bodied Chardonnay, but is sure to tick the boxes of those who still want refreshing notes too! Pair it with seafood or roast chicken and you have the makings of a great meal.
