Wine review: Ric Red by DR3
I have to admit, I don’t know a whole lot about F1. But I do love wine, especially when it has a great label. So I was really excited to try the Ric Red by DR3 from St Hugo (#gifted). This wine is Danielle Ricciardo’s latest release with St Hugo, who crafted it alongside Peter Munro, chief winemaker of St Hugo.
The wine was crafted to be an approachable red blend bursting with character and ready to be enjoyed whenever the moment calls for it. It was designed to be a wine that fit Daniel to a tee – bold, confident and bursting with character.
I really enjoyed trying the Ric Red by DR3. It definitely delivers on what it set out to achieve and is a great wine to have on hand for everyday drinking. It’s definitely a crowd-pleasing wine, and simply tasty. Plus I absolutely love the striking label designed by Daniel’s helmet designer, Ornamental Conifer.
On the nose, this wine has a lovely mix of raspberry, strawberry and spice. This follows through into the palate which has a nice balance between vibrant and lively fruit and a nice softness. It’s generous, fruit-driven and the kind of wine that would be at home alongside your next BBQ. We enjoyed it with friends at a Christmas party and it was an absolute hit!
