It’s pretty perfect that international Champagne day falls on a Friday so we can all have the perfect excuse to pop some bubbles! Take this as your sign to enjoy some bubbles tonight! How will I be celebrating? Well, I can’t think of a better way than enjoying this special bottle I was gifted from Champagne Pommery, the Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV.
Leading Champagne House Pommery is taking us wine lovers on a global adventure with the release of their 2021 World Collection. Previous collections have transported us to Australia, South America, Japan and Africa. But 2021 sees us heading to Asia. I love this idea as I am hankering for an overseas holiday! In the meantime travelling through wine will have to do.
This limited offering, titled Celeste, has five limited edition bespoke gift boxes which draw inspiration from traditional Asian design.
Maison Pommery is renowned for creating the Brut style of Champagne in 1874, and this range includes the Brut Royal NV, Brut Rose NV, Brut Apanage NV, Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV and Grand Cru Vintage from 2008 (a great vintage for Champagne).
I received the Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV to try and I couldn’t wait to give it a go. We visited Pommery when we went to France a few years ago but I’d never tried their Blanc de Blancs. It’s made using 100% Chardonnay from the terroirs of Cote des Blancs, Montagne de Reimas and Nogent l’Abbesse.
This Champagne delivered everything I wanted and more. It had very refreshing aromas with subtle floral. In the glass, it was complex yet elegant with citrus fruits and creaminess. I loved the complexity as sip after sip I could unpack more. It was beautifully balanced and seriously delicious.
The Pommery Apanage Blanc de Blancs NV retails at $109.99 and would make for a really special gift. With Christmas coming up these beautiful gift boxes make these wines even more special.
Visit Pommery to see the full range and find out more about this beautiful Blanc de Blancs. This wine and range will be available from Qantas wine from the end of October, and major stockists from mid-November.
