Wine review: Orlando Wines Riesling 2020

Recently I was sent a few wines from Orlando Wines to try and it was hard to know where to start, but I realised it had been a hot minute since I’d shared a Rielsing and this one caught my eye. The Orlando Wines Steingarten Riesling 2020 is from their Legends range and was the first Riesling of its kind in Australia, said to set the benchmark for cool-climate Riesling over the last 50 years. After trying it I can safely say it is easy to see why. This Riesling is a classic expression of Riesling with beautiful crisp notes and a subtle palate that makes it perfect for enjoying alongside seafood.

On the nose, the Orlando Wines Steingarten Riesling 2020 is delicate with floral and lemon. It’s got a lovely pale straw colour in the glass. The palate is subtle yet crisp and refreshing with notes of lemon and lime alongside a lovely minerality that really rounded out the whole palate. It’s simply delicious and keeps you going back sip after sip. The kind of wine that makes me think: why don’t I drink more Riesling?
