Wine review: Nimble Vitner Nero d’Avola 2022
This week I wanted to share a delicious Nero d’Avola that I tried from the Nimble Vitner. The Nimble Vitner works on a direct-to-consumer model, producing small-batch wines from leading grape growers and winemakers. Their range is ever-changing so you’ll always find something new to discover, and the best part? By going direct to consumers they can sell these delicious wines at really affordable prices. And let me tell you, the Nimble Vitner Nero d’Avola 2022 is a seriously delicious food wine that delivers great quality for under $20 a bottle. What more could you want?
On the nose, the Nimble Vitner Nero d’Avola 2022 is packed full of raspberry, plum and spice. It’s got a medium body in the palate with plenty of complexity and balance. It’s young and vibrant with juicy fruit upfront that is balanced beautifully by savoury notes. There’s plenty to unpack in this wine, and with just the right amount of acid and tannin, this wine is perfect for enjoying with food. A nice big bowl of tomato-based pasta and a glass of this wine would be the perfect combination.
