The Lanson Black Label Champagne NV is the perfect pair to celebrations over the holidays. It’s bright, crisp and refreshing with those classic Champagne flavours. Perfect for enjoying before your Christmas feast, or with some nice creamy cheese.
It’s almost the end of the year, and what a year it has been! I feel like the only thing worth celebrating is the end of 2020, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do it in style! I’ve been turning to bubbles a lot in the lead up to Christmas. It just makes everything feel more festive!
So when I received this sample of Lanson Black Label Champagne NV I couldn’t wait to pop it open! We’d just received some beautiful new Riedel glasses for our engagement from some lovely friends, and so I invited them over to christen the glasses (and enjoy some Champagne). The only thing better than bubbles is enjoying them with friends!
About Lanson Champagne
Have you heard of Lanson Champagne? I think this was my first time trying their Champagne so I was very excited! Maison Landson was established in 1760 and is one of the world oldest Champagne Houses. They adopt longer ageing and traditional vinification methods that aren’t adopted by many other houses, giving their wines freshness and vitality.
If that wasn’t fancy enough, Lanson Champagne is actually the approved supplier of the British Royal family, and has been since it was awarded 120 years ago! So you too can have a Royal Christmas in your very own home!
Why I loved the Lanson Black Label Champagne NV
The Lanson Black Label Champagne NV is seriously delicious! It is perfect for celebrating with family and friends, or would make for the perfect gift! It’s quite good value when it comes to Champagne so is a great option to stock up with for your celebrations.
Taste-wise, I loved how creamy this wine was. It had a great texture and very delicate flavours. You could definitely taste those classic Champagne flavours from the traditional method of toastiness, biscuit and cashew. This paired with a nice citrus note made the wine quite balanced and refreshing. I like the finish of this Champagne as well – it was clean and crisp, making it nice and refreshing for Summer.
This acidity actually comes from Lanson’s method for producing Champagne. They prevent the wines from going into malolactic fermentation which means they retain good acidity. This also means that Lanson Champagne, despite being Non-Vintage is quite good for ageing. If you can wait that long to enjoy it!
What to enjoy it with
The Lanson Black Label Champagne NV is perfect for Summer celebrating, and I don’t think it needs to be paired with food. It is the perfect way to start off a celebration, refreshing the palate before tucking into a Christmas feast! If you want to pair it with anything, I would suggest a nice cheese board with some creamy cheeses. Otherwise, if your family loves fresh seafood, some oysters would be great with this wine. For me, some cheese, friends, family and celebrations are the perfect pairing for this wine.
In summary: the Lanson Black Label Champagne NV is perfect for celebrations
I really enjoyed the Lanson Black Label Champagne NV. It was nice to try a Champagne I hadn’t tried before, and I loved how refreshing it was on the palate. It means it’s perfect for Summer celebrating, yet you still get those classic creamy flavours that come with Champagne. This wine would make for a great pairing with your holiday celebrations, or as a gift if you’re looking for something to spoil that special someone with!
