Recently I was introduced to Lou Miranda Estate for the first time and could hardly wait to try their wines. This female-run winery is named in honour of their father and produces a wide range of Barossa Valley wines. One of their ranges, the Fierce III from Lou Miranda Estate, is packed full of stunning wines inside and out that celebrate their vision to produce wines with independence, authenticity and strength. About Lou Miranda Estate
Lou Miranda Estate is a family-owned boutique winery based in the Southern end of the Barossa Valley. The Estate started when their Nonno, Francesco ‘Pop’ Miranda came to Australia in 1938. His son Lou and wife Val spent a lifetime building on his passion for wine while adding their own unique style. Now, the business has been passed onto their daughters Lisa, Angela and Victoria who bring their own unique skills to the winery and work together to craft beautiful wines that express the premium quality of the land. Lou Miranda Estate is renowned for its old vine wines with premium quality, as well as a number of other ranges to discover.
Introducing Fierce III
Lisa, Angela and Victoria are three passionate women dedicated to creating unique experiences for wine drinkers. They started Fierce III to celebrate their work together. The lion symbolises their boldness, bravery and assurance taking on the role in the family vineyards, and the III represents the three sisters.
Fierce III is a premium wine brand, rich in experience and celebrating the now. The wines in the range are a fresh and energising new take on Barossa wines perfect for those who appreciate bold Australian wines.
The labels are stunning, and the wines inside are even better! With a wide range of reds, a white, prosecco and rosé to try, there really is something for everyone to try. There are some Barossa classics but also wine varieties that you may not usually see coming out of the Barossa. This range gives you an opportunity to try something completely different!

Fierce III Sagrantino
Offering something completely different from the Barossa, this Sagrantino is inky in the glass with notes of dried cherry, cranberry and mocha. It’s got a rich palate with ripe fruit and savoury spice. This wine is perfect for lovers of bold food wines who want to try something completely different.
Fierce III Shiraz Grenache Mataro
This red blend is the perfect versatile weekday date night wine. It’s complex with intense flavours and structure, with a nice blend of sweetness of Shiraz, vibrancy of Grenache and layers of Mataro. Notes of Raspberry and cherry complement earthy notes.
Fierce III Dry Rosé
This crisp Rosé is perfect for warmer weather and spicy food. It’s lively and zesty with lemon and crunchy pink lady apples on the palate. This wine delivers everything you want from a Rosé and more, with a beautiful pale rose gold colour in the glass.
Fierce III Cabernet Sauvignon
The Fierce III Cabernet Sauvignon is perfect for sharing with friends. It’s got lovely aromas of Cassis and Blackcurrant that follow through into the palate which has great intensity and those fruit notes upfront balanced by chocolate. It’s a stunner from start to finish.
Fierce III Pinot Grigio
Pinot Grigio is not something you see coming out of the Barossa much, but this wine is a welcome addition that is perfect for enjoying young with seafood or salad. It’s got lovely floral notes on the nose and the palate has that classic crispness with lemon, citrus and apple all pulled together into a lovely, textural white that’s juicy and delicious.
Fierce III Shiraz
Rounding off the range is the Shiraz which is perfect for pairing with BBQ and long Sunday gatherings with family and friends. It has plums, clove, brown spices and dark chocolate on the nose. Dark fruit and spice follow through to the palate which has nice, velvety tannins. This wine is rich and generous with plenty to unpack.
