Earlier this week I realised just how many wine corks I’ve been hoarding. I try to keep every wine cork we use, and as a result I am running out of space in my storage jar! Even with Australian wine which is mostly screw cap, I’ve still managed to accumulate plenty of corks. So the next question is what on earth should I do with them? Well, rather than keep stuffing them into my large vase, I thought I should look up some fun wine cork projects to do!
We are all inside more than ever at the moment, so I figured why not trawl the internet for some fun arts and craft projects that involve wine? So many people were excited by the idea of doing something with their wine corks when I posted earlier in the week. I decided I would do the hard work finding some fun projects for us all, and all you have to do is grab out your glue gun and get started! So let’s dive into my five favourite wine cork projects that I found on Pinterest.
Make a home for your house plants
The first project I found that seems really fun is using the wine corks for your house plants! Whether you want a low maintenance air plant or some cute little succulents, you can use wine corks to make little homes for them! To me, making little air plant holders out of wine corks seems totally manageable. You only need a glue gun and a magnet along with your plant and cork to make the magic happen! And the best thing is that the air plants are low maintenance too!
If you want something a little more complicated (I mean it involves a drill), try making a cute little garden for your succulents. I love the look of these adorable little succulent gardens and can imagine making a little centrepiece out of them.

What about a wine cork centre piece?
This was one of the first projects I found on Pinterest and I think it would be something so fun to put out for our wine nights. Who doesn’t love a nice table centre piece, and I love that this one is made of wine corks! It also doubles as a placemat for hot food – so it’s actually practical too!
The best thing about this project is you only need a utility knife and a glue gun, as well as 50 corks (you’ve got that many right? Just me?). You make it by cutting the corks up and then literally gluing them together however you want them to be laid out. It seems so easy to make something that is sure to be a bit of a talking point.

Set the mood right with wine corks
What I love about this idea is that you don’t need any craft skills or equipment to make something that looks really great. I love that the corks remain intact in this project and are still on display so you can keep the special ones. It also creates a really nice atmosphere. All you need is two vases, or a vase and a candle, and a lot of corks. Put it all together and you have an ambient display for your corks.

Make a wine-corkboard
Why not put your corks to good use with this practical and cute literal corkboard. I love how cute this project is, and how you can customise it with the colours that suit your room. It takes a little more effort, but would be the perfect time filler if you’re looking for your next arts and craft project! You need a few more materials than some of the other projects, but it looks like it would be completely worth the extra effort!

Make a nice sign
Take the difficulty out of making some fun wall art for your wine room. I saw plenty of options for creating your own signs using craft letters and gluing the corks to these, but I absolutely love this metal wine cork holder that you can fill up as you go. It solves the storage problem, and when you’re finished you’ll have some fun wall art!

In summary, wine cork projects are a great way to use your corks
There are so many fun projects out here, but these are definitely five wine cork projects that I want to try. The best part about it is that I feel like I can try all of them. I simply need to drink more wine to get more corks for them! Not a bad situation to be in if you ask me.
What are your favourite wine cork projects? I’d love to hear about them!
