I’ve definitely been getting on the prosecco rosé bandwagon but I hadn’t tried one from Italy until now – and I can tell you the 2019 Babo Prosecco Rosé DOC is a beautiful wine that’s sure to tick all the boxes for you too!
This wine is made using the prosecco grape Glera and also some Pinot Nero for the colour from fruit sourced from the province of Friuli Venezia Giuli in Italy.
The 2019 Babo Prosecco Rosé DOC is a brut style so has everything you’d want from a prosecco but with more flavours than you’d usually find in a Prosecco. It’s crisp, it’s refreshing and easy to drink!
On the palate, I got raspberry, white peaches and blackcurrant with a hint of minerality. The wine finished lovely and crisp leaving you refreshed and wanting another sip. If this doesn’t tick all the boxes of a prosecco I don’t know what will!
This wine is youthful, vibrant and refreshing. I can see it fitting in perfectly at the start of a long lunch with friends! And at $28 a bottle, it is quite affordable.
