Wine review: VNTNR Artist Series Biodynamic Shiraz
I am a sucker for a good-looking wine bottle, and the VNTNR Artist Series Biodynamic Shiraz is a looker! It is one of three wines that is part of the Artist Series that has been done in collaboration with the MARS Gallery. Each bottle showcases a young Australian artist’s work, so you can enjoy wine whilst celebrating these talented artists. I decided to start with the Biodynamic Shiraz out of the series because I’m trying to channel autumn weather, and I wasn’t disappointed by this beautiful wine.
The VNTNR Artist Series Biodynamic Shiraz is from 2017, so you don’t need to wait to crack it open and enjoy it! This wine has had a few years to further develop some lovely flavours making it a taste sensation that’s perfect for enjoying with food. On the nose, this wine has blackberry, raspberry and currant notes along with a hint of spice and chocolate. The palate is rich and round with those dark berry notes alongside chocolate and nice spice. This isn’t a jammy Shiraz, instead, it is luscious but nicely balanced with just the right amount of acidity. The length is long, rounded and delicious. Pair it with roast beef or lamb and you’ve got a winning combination!
