The Arcadia Bohemia Chardonnay 2017 was always going to be a winner from me because it’s from the Mornington Peninsula, one of my favourites! I really enjoyed this wine, and I am not usually the biggest fan of Chardonnay. This wine had great citrus and grapefruit flavours which really lifted the wine and gave it a vibrant acidity. It also had a great complexity to it with a hint of pear and pineapple. Talk about a fruity delight! I didn’t taste much oak (just a hint of nuttiness) in this wine which left room for a crisp acidity that I loved.
If you like your Chardonnay more zesty and crisp whilst still maintaining complexity, look no further than this treat of a wine! It really celebrates why I love the Mornington Peninsula so much.
The Daily Deal – Big Easy Radio ‘Never Fail False Idols’ Shiraz Mataro 2016

This Shiraz Mataro is from McClaren Vale and has a good amount of age on it. 2016 was also a great year down there, so you are in for a treat! This wine was super ripe and had a great balance between the Shiraz and the savoury of the Mataro. There was a bit of earthy spice but enough juicy fruits that it didn’t overpower. I really enjoyed that this wine was peppery on the front with blackberry, but really smooth at the finish. Such a yummy wine and perfect for colder days!
This wine you could easily put away for a few years, or just enjoy now with a bit of decanting. It’s normally $32 a pop so you’re getting great value in this case!
The Black Market Deal – It’s a surprise!
