The Group The Murder 2017 McLaren Vale Shiraz

by The Cheeky Vino

We enjoyed this beautiful Shiraz from The Group wines a few weeks ago and it was so delicious I had to share it!

The Group Wines is a collective of over 100 individual growers, all bringing their best to create a collection of premium wines. In doing so the initiative hopes to support the grower’s livelihoods and facilitate a sharing of ideas and knowledge.

With the heart-breaking bushfires severely affecting the Adelaide Hills last year, and the pandemic seriously impacting retail sales, it has never been more important to support our smaller wine producers. The Group was formed as a way of pivoting from this devastation to support those growers and get their wine out to us consumers in another way! Through the initiative, they hope to support the locals behind the labels.

The Group The Murder 2017 McLaren Vale Shiraz is from Brian and Valerie Cameron. With 70 years of family experience going into their grape growing, you know you are in for something special!

I absolutely loved this Shiraz. It was bright and not too heavy but still bold. I loved how smoothly it drunk with dark fruits and silky tannins. It also had a great length and a lovely balance. Overall this wine was a taste sensation and I found it all too easy to enjoy over dinner.

For this wine, nothing pairs better than a steak or BBQ.

You can find The Group wines at Liquorland and First Choice nationally.
