Wine review: Stella Bella Otro Vino The Italian
Recently I was sent a few wines from Stella Bella, and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. All the wines have beautiful labels and sound delicious. But the Stella Bella Otro Vino The Italian caught my eye instantly. I love Italian varietals and paired with a cute label you best believe I was sold. When I cracked it open to try, it got even better. This wine is beautiful inside and out and begging to be paired with your next Italian feast. Think a nice big bowl of pasta (tomato based or a beef ragu – yes please), or even some homemade pizzas. This is sure to be a hit if you’re after a great food wine.
The Stella Bella Otro Vino The Italian is vibrant in the glass and in the palate. It’s a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot packed full of flavour and charm. On the nose, you get predominately red fruits of cranberry and raspberry along with the classic Sangiovese dried herb note. This follows through into the palate which is vibrant and packed full of juicy fruit, yet nicely balanced with savoury notes. Although it is higher in ABV (14.3%), it drinks a little more on the medium side. It’s got just the right amount of acidity to make it perfect for enjoying with food.
