I am a big fan of McLaren Vale and just dying to get back there. We haven’t been in a few years now and I hope we can head back there sooner rather than later!Β In the meantime, thank goodness for wines that can transport me there when we can’t travel! Just like this Richard Hamilton 2020 Little Road Shiraz.
This wine is part of the Richard Hamilton Rosette series which helps celebrate entering their 50th year and the Hamilton Family business enjoying 184 years of winemaking and growing (they are one of the first families of the South Australian wine industry!) This new look for the Estate range is linked to the rose which has particular significance to Richard Hamilton McLaren Vale where extensive rose gardens surround their vineyards and cellar door.
The Richard Hamilton 2020 Little Road Shiraz was a really delicious Shiraz made from estate-grown fruit. I found the wine to be seriously vibrant and juicy with plenty of fruit on the nose and palate. Flavours of plum, pepper and cedar came together into this medium-full bodied taste sensation. I loved how each sip kept me unpacking more about this wine – it was full of flavour yet elegant. I can’t imagine a better wine to enjoy with a good BBQ and friends.
This wine retails at $26 and can be purchased, along with the rest of the Rosette range, from Richard Hamilton McLaren Vale. Head to their page for more.
