Wine review: Hutton Vale Farm Shiraz 2019
I’m kicking off the new year right with the seriously special Hutton Vale Farm Shiraz 2019. Honestly, if 2024 is going to taste like this, I’m going to be pretty happy! You may think you know Barossa Shiraz, but this wine shows that there is so much to discover when it comes to this region. I have tried previous vintages of this wine and it’s always a treat! This wine is beautifully elegant and the sort of wine you can enjoy now, but also cellar for the next 15 years or so to continue developing its lovely flavours. This wine is perfect for special occasions and would go beautifully with a rich, roast beef or lamb.
The Hutton Vale Farm Shiraz 2019 is wonderfully layered and beautifully elegant. It’s got deep, brooding notes of plum, pepper and spice along with a hint of raspberry. The fruit shines through in the aroma and follows through into the palate where it is nicely balanced by complex notes of spice and pepper. This wine is rich and generous with plenty to unpack in each sip, yet nicely balanced. The flavours dance across the palate and linger long after you take a sip. It’s seriously elegant, and the kind of wine that just makes you say “wow”.
About Hutton Vale Farm
