Wine review: Hungerford Hill Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2021
Recently I was sent a few wines from Hungerford Hill to try after visiting the Tumbarumba wine region for the first time. I absolutely loved the wines of this region, and it’s been great revisiting them through Hungerford Hill. This week I wanted to share the beautiful Hungerford Hill Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2021. Tumbarumba is renowned for its Chardonnay, and this one seriously ticks all the boxes for me. It really lets the fruit shine through with a nice creaminess from malolactic fermentation coming through to balance it all out. If you love a good Chardonnay, this wine is sure to please and would go along perfectly with lighter, summer meals.
The Hungerford Hill Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2021 has beautiful fruit characters that really shine through in the wine, showcasing the purity of fruit that Tumbarumba is known for. Peach and melon come through in the aroma and follow through to the palate which is delightfully refreshing. What I love about it is the wine has a really nice creaminess to really round out the wine and give it a lovely texture. It adds complexity and leaves you wanting to go back sip after sip.
