Wine review: Howard Park Flint Rock Chardonnay
What I love so much about Chardonnay is how many styles you can enjoy. The wine can be vastly different based on where the grapes were grown, but also winemaking techniques. With my husband being obsessed with buttery Chardonnay, sometimes it’s good to get the opportunity to explore other styles. And one I recently enjoyed was the Howard Park Flint Rock Chardonnay. This wine is more on the fresher style of Chardonnay, offering a delicious minerality and fresh flavours. But it also has a hint of oak influence, which gives it a nice complexity and texture. There’s plenty to unpack in this delicious wine!
On the nose, the Howard Park Flint Rock Chardonnay is packed full of florals apple and nectarine. But where it shines is in its complex yet crisp palate. It has a hint of vanilla from oak influence and a slight creaminess, but what dominates is a freshness and minerality alongside a nice, crisp finish. Notes of lemon, apple and nectarine come through and are nicely balanced by that minerality that makes the wine oh-so refreshing. The oak influence is nicely integrated, making this wine crisp and fresh. Perfect for enjoying before dinner with a cheese board, or a nice crisp salad.
About Howard Park

Their vision is to have an uncompromising commitment to quality, crafting wines expressive of their terroir. They have always aspired to make wine with generational cellaring potential.
