Wine review: Clandestine Vineyards Pinot Noir 2022

I’ve really been enjoying tasting my way through the latest release from Clandestine Vineyards, and the Clandestine Vineyards Pinot Noir 2022 ticks all the boxes for me. It’s a delicious Pinot that has a really nice balance of complex notes to unpack, yet is really affordable. It’s perfect for enjoying with friends over a BBQ with lamb chops, or even a mushroom risotto if you wanted something a little fancier. Either way, this wine is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

In the glass, the Clandestine Vineyards Pinot Noir 2022 is bright ruby red. The aromas are lifted with notes of strawberry and cherry along with a hint of spice. These notes follow through into the palate which is juicy upfront with those red fruit notes. This is balanced nicely by spice and a lovely weighted texture that really rounds out the palate. It’s got plenty to discover sip after sip, with a nice balance of tannins and acidity making this wine simply a joy to sip. For $30 this wine is a great price point for a seriously tasty wine.

About Clandestine Vineyards

Clandestine Vineyards’ focus is to represent 100% varietal wines from single vineyard sites across the best sub-regions for those varietals. Growers are chosen for best organic vineyard practices, zero harmful pesticides/herbicides and commitment to sustainability.

Coordinating 14 separate vineyards, two winemakers and two processing facilities across two states (WA and SA) is no easy task, especially in a pandemic, but Clandestine Vineyards takes it in their stride to produce incredible wines based on longstanding relationships and the founders, Nick and Trudy’s, vision for every vintage.
