Last weekend I hosted my very first blind wine tasting! I’ve always wanted to do one of these and finally decided to give it a go. I invited a few friends over to be guinea pigs and the result was one seriously fun night! Everyone brought a bottle of red wine and then I presented them to the group so they could rate it, guess what variety it was and the region it was from.
It definitely wasn’t a serious wine tasting, but where’s the fun in that? I wanted it to be more about starting a conversation around wine and learning than anything else, and with the cheeky curveballs I threw in the mix, there was no way it was going to be a serious wine night!
Check out the video below for all the hilarity that I caught on camera from the evening. I especially love the way my friends describe the wines – very colourful wine language is being used! I’m not sure if James Halliday would approve, however.
I hope it inspires you to host your very own blind wine tasting!
Later this week I’ll also be posting in more detail all my tips and tricks for hosting your own blind wine tasting!
