Wine review: Balancing Heart 2023 Verdelho
Going from the cooler temperatures of Queenstown to the heat we’re getting in Brisbane at the moment has me reaching for refreshing whites. It’s a hot, humid Summer here, so finding some delicious white wines with plenty of zippy acidity is the way to go. And I have to say the Balancing Heart 2023 Verdelho ticks all the boxes for me! I’ve enjoyed sipping my way through their Summer range, and this Verdelho is no different. This Queensland wine is built for the Queensland heat, and perfection on a warm Summer day.
On the nose, the Balancing Heart 2023 Verdelho is packed full of tropical fruit with aromas of pineapple and passionfruit alongside a hint of floral. This follows through into the palate which has a nice balance between the fruity notes and a hint of grapefruit for a lovely citrus influence. Zippy and lively acidity brings this wine together into a taste sensation that is oh so refreshing. This wine is perfect for enjoying on its own or with grilled chicken and a salad. If you’re looking for a lively and refreshing wine perfect for Summer sipping, add this one to your list!
