Bailey Wine Co Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

by The Cheeky Vino

We recently tried the Bailey Wine Co Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and it was a serious hit! I loved how approachable this wine was. It was a serious crowd-pleaser between lighter style wine lovers and heavier style wine lovers alike!

Bailey Wine Co is a family business owned by Tim and Kate Bailey and based in Coonawarra in South Australia. After 19 years and 20 vintages, Tim took the plunge and started making his own wine – bringing to life Bailey Wine Co in 2015. He was inspired by some of the wines from early in his winemaking career to producing wines they love to drink.

Their wines are made for enjoying – which is what I’m all about! If you’re after affordable, quality wines with a bit of fun, these wines are sure to hit the mark!

This wine absolutely shines and is full of delicious fresh red and dark fruit flavours on the nose. I got a lot of blackcurrant in the palate with a hint of nuttiness from oak to balance out the freshness. The wine had a lovely plush texture with fine tannins and a nice long and silky finish. I loved that this wine wasn’t super heavy, and the balance was absolutely perfect. You could enjoy this now or lay it down for a little bit to let the flavours develop.

The Bailey Wine Co Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon is a great food wine and is perfect if you’re after something to enjoy with friends over a good meal! Enjoy it with pizza or some grilled meat. I think lamb would be a winning combination.
