Wine review: Aces & Arrows Pinot Noir

I am a sucker for a nice label, and the new range from Aces & Arrows definitely caught my eye. This wine range is great as it has four wines so far each with a different story, winemaker and region behind the wine. It means withone brand you can try several different styles. I wasn’t sure where to start because they all sounded great, but I decided on the Aces & Arrows Pinot Noir. Mainly because we were just in Central Otago and I am missing the Pinot! So it was great to revisit it with this delicious Pinot that ticked all the boxes. If you’re a lover of darker, savoury Pinots that pair beautifully with food, this one is for you.

On the nose, the Aces & Arrows Pinot Noir has plenty to unpack. Notes of cherry and plum dominate along with a hint of spice. These notes follow through into the palate which is vibrant yet smooth. It’s complex with notes of spice, smoke and those dark fruits all coming together with a hint of pepper. I love the savoury profile of this wine and how its complex notes come together nicely into a balanced, smooth and abundant wine. It’s simply delicious, and a great price for a tasty Pinot you can enjoy now.
